Nearly 40 business representatives from South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire gathered at Field Mill, home of Mansfield Town Football Club, this week to gain invaluable advice from two of Britain's leading business gurus ate the first Business Booster event. Finance specialist Steve Pipe and expert on networking & relationship marketing Rob Brown spent the day advising businesses on how to beat the recession. All delegate fees were paid direct to Macmillan Cancer Care as part of a campaign by Graham Parker of PR consultancy Parker PR to raise £68,000 for the charity. "Thanks to the support from our sponsors Hewitt Card, Mansfield Town FC and our two speakers we were able to offer great advice at a really low price; so everyone built profitable relationships on the day" said Graham Parker. The event raised nearly £1,000 for the charity and is the first in a series of events Parker PR will be staging. Mansfield businesswoman Susannah Brade-Waring of Aspirin Business Solutions was one of the attendees and said; "It was a fab event. I got loads of really useful information that I can start improving my business with NOW. Perfect! " Alison Leckonby, from The Best of Retford also came away from the event ready to make dramatic improvements to her business. " I hadn't heard of Steve Pipe so wasn't sure what to expect, but he blew me away! I can see why his clients are so successful. Rob Brown was my main reason for attending, having already read, enjoyed and benefited from his book "How to Build Your Reputation", and I wasn't disappointed, quite the opposite, in fact," said Alison. Tristram Young from Rotherham based security specialists Pyronix Ltd came away buzzing with plans for business improvement; "It was a superb day. To be honest your never really sure how good these events will be, however I came away with some really good idea's which I have shared with my MD already and will also be sharing with our sales team at the next sales meeting," said Tristram.
